Most, and if not all of the landscape photos that I make will be planned events! That is, I will have normally been to a location more than once and then it is a case of looking out for weather forecasts, sunrise/sunset times and arriving with 'hope' more than anything else, that there will be some decent light and some atmosphere to the scene.
However, on this occasion it was very much a have camera and take an opportune moment as the clouds started 'bubbling' away to visit a spot that I had previously driven past up on the Alnwick Moors on countless occasions.
It's a fabulous spot with views across to The Cheviot Hills and a spot that I will be returning to soon, as and when the many Rhododendrons that seem to cling to the moorland slopes come into flower.
A gap in the moody clouds allows some crepuscular rays to cast their spell on the landscape below. One might think that the heavens were about to open, however a rather pleasant evening followed. A very welcome change to the inclement conditions we have been experiencing for what seems like an eternity!
