A misty autumnal morning at Alnwick Castle in Northumberland.




Whilst en-route to Seahouses to hopefully make a sunrise photograph in the wonderful harbour there, the fog began to envelope the car as I made my way North on the A1. Knowing that I had time in hand, I decided to make a detour towards Alnwick Castle as I had wanted to make a photograph there for some time now when the conditions were favourable.
This photograph was conceived on many previous visits whilst wandering along the banks of the River Aln trying to work out some compositions.
As the fog began to clear, the magnificent Alnwick Castle came in to view and with some gorgeous early morning side lighting casting it’s magic spell on the ‘turning’ trees and also the castle walls, it was just such a pleasure being out there with only a dog walker or two for company.
For now, the Seahouses shot can wait a while longer!
