Dawn breaks at St. Mary's Island, Whitley Bay as the tide rises on a beautiful September morning.
Always a favourite location, there were another six photographers out there on that morning and it was a pleasure to meet a few people who just enjoy being out there as much as I do.
Shortly after this photograph was made, the tide covered the small causeway that leads to the island, cutting it off from the mainland for another few hours before tourists and visitors return to explore the many rock pools and of course, the lighthouse which stands majestically above the horizon.
