I never tire of visiting St. Mary's to make a photograph. There are just so many different viewpoints and with a little bit of imagination with the camera settings and filters, different looks can always be achieved at any time of the day.
This long exposure was made on a January evening. There was just enough light to give detail in the foreground rocks and the floodlights of the lighthouse cast a nice reflection on to the seemingly calm waters as St. Mary's Island is cut off from the mainland once again as the tide rises.
