This is a favourite ledge on Harkness Rocks up at Bamburgh in Beautiful Northumberland.
I just love visiting this spot whenever the tide and sunrise 'play ball'!
During the winter months, the sunrise is perfect in my opinion to accentuate the shape and beauty that is Bamburgh Castle and if you can manage to combine high tide at the same time, well that is a big bonus. The incoming waves (always watch out for the odd rogue one) hit these rocks giving the photograph an added interest in the foreground.
I slipped over three times on the rocks before making this shot but all that had no significance as the sky just lit up with colour and it was just a case of balancing the sky with filters to make the most (hopefully) of one of those mornings when things come together.
I'll be back in the same spot again and make no apologies for doing so!
