"Snow at Sycamore Gap"

"Snow at Sycamore Gap"

A fine November morning and the first snow of winter lies beneath the lone Sycamore tree on Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland.
The tree was made famous in the movie 'Robin Hood Prince of Thieves' starring Kevin Costner.
A few walkers passed by and I thought hard about whether to include them in the shot to add a sense of scale to the image, but in the end I decided that the composition worked well with just mother-nature and what she had to offer that morning.

Shot detail: Canon 1D MKIV, 17-40mm f4 lens, ISO 100, f16 @ 1/40th. Lee 0.6 GNDS + circular polarizer.
